I ordered for pick up and when I got to the restaurant I was very pleased with the cleanliness and the overall vibe of the place. After waiting for my food and asking to ensure it was complete I drove home and realized I was missing two entrees. I called and they said thegd redo it. Unfortunately I live pretty far from downtown and would have been ok with a credit for next time but Huey said hed drive it out to the Country for us! I was so shocked with the hospitality especially since it was raining! He called me to update me throughout the trip and even closed the ranch gate on his way out. Now the food - it was the best Vietnamese food we have had in Sonoma County! The P22. Shrimps Rice Noodle Soup / Phở Tôm was excelent and the shrimp were large and deveined. The A2. Fried Vietnamese Egg Rolls / Chả Giò (3) were so crispy and full of flavor. The A1. Shrimps Spring Rolls / Gỏi Cuốn Tôm (4)were generously stuffed and large. The A4. Salt & Pepper Calamari or Prawns / Mực Hoặc Tôm Chiên Giòn was excellent. The C6. BBQ Chicken with Rice / Cơm Gà Nướn and P14. Boneless Chicken Rice Noodle Soup / Phở Gà showed up and were warm and had great flavor. We will be visiting again soon! Thank you Pho Sonoma!!!!
Pho beef meatballs soup hits the spot. Soup lacked a bit of flavor. Surprised that they have papaya salad! Papaya salad was on the sweet side versus spicy. Solid pho place if one is craving for the pho noodle soup fix here!
Pho Sonoma was the first place I had dinner when I was in Petaluma. I was jet lagged and just wanted cozy food. They did not disappoint! The vibe of the place was inviting, service was so friendly and welcoming. I got noodles with tofu and a honey dew boba tea. It was perfection. I'm a huge honeydew boba tea enthusiast and I can definitely say they get 5/5. The noodles were delicious, veggies were nice and fresh, and tofu was crispy. I honestly am craving this right now. If you are in Petaluma and want a healthy meal that is cozy, definitely come here :)
I don't know how I've never come across this quite little restaurant before in downtown Petaluma but goodness!! There's two entrances one around the corner and then one in the courtyard area. There also seems to be an outdoor area but maybe that's reserved for summer? I really liked the environment. It was very comfortable and even suitable to do work if I needed a laptop. Lol, since I was eating alone, I enjoyed watching the YouTube feed of street foods all over the world as I watched I saw the employees working very quickly to make everyone's food, fresh and hot!! The server was incredibly young, but very friendly and courteous to ask if I needed more water or another beer. Lol. I ordered the veggie eggrolls and the vegan Pho. I am allergic to MSG, so to eat Asian food, and it's really difficult! Actually, almost everything has MSG even ranch dressing! Goodness, but luckily, this particular Vietnamese place did not have MSG in any of their food! Granted, some of their dishes had soy sauce, which has MSG in it, but I did not order that. Lol, the spring rolls were so hot I was glad they were cut in half so they could cool off faster but they were so delicious and crispy with fresh veggies inside. They had a great crunch! Then the vegan Pho had a lot of good flavor. The broth had that mushroom and clove combo to it with anise aftertaste.yummm I did think it was kind of funny. They had broccoli in what the fuck instead of bok choy, but that's fine! It's still in green vegetable I enjoy! Lol I will definitely be back here again to try more dishes!!!hee
Growing up in the area my whole life, there aren't many Vietnamese restaurants that remind me of the food I grew up eating, but this one takes the crown! For starters, the service is top notch and the owners are extremely friendly and hospitable, making us feel at home. The food is some of the most authentic Vietnamese food in Sonoma County, hands down. The grilled meats are seasoned just right and cooked nicely, the portions are generous and you get real Viet flavors across the board. My favorites include the "Banh Xeo" Crispy Viet omelette , the Combination rice platter and the Obama Special! Must try spot for some comforting, authentic and real Vietnamese food!
